The Metropolitan Day School, Inc., (MDS) founded in 1998 by the Metropolitan Baptist Church, is a coeducational institution that enrolls students in pre-school (3.5 years old) and Pre-Kindergarten through grade six. Our mission is to develop the minds, bodies and spirits of children, creating in them a passion for lifelong learning, a commitment to caring for others, and habits of healthy living.

We are committed to the pursuit of excellence, integrating learning and faith that our students may become the people God would have them to be. Acknowledging our foundation in the black church, we teach children to appreciate the rich ethnic, cultural and religious heritage of African Americans, always respecting the diversity of the people of God. Mindful of the inclusiveness of the Christian cause, we intentionally create a school community of persons from varied economic and social backgrounds.
