A Christian Alternative

This The Metropolitan Day School, Inc., a Christian school alternative is available in the Nation's capital. If you are looking for a challenging academic environment for your elementary-aged child, the Metropolitan Day School is right for you.

With curriculum designed to prepare children to succeed in a global society, Metropolitan Day School uses technology and innovative instructional techniques to help students develop critical thinking skills and use their creativity. We expect and demand excellence. Instruction is student-centered; teachers are skilled in stimulating each student's natural curiosity and excitement about learning. Basic information about the history, culture and contributions of African and African-American people is an important part of the curriculum. The MDS program has been carefully designed to help students develop good study habits and healthy attitudes toward achievement in school. In partnership with you, the parents, we ensure that every student receives an education that nourishes not just the mind, but the body and spirit as well.

Tuition & Fees

Tuition and fees are established annually. Separate fees are charged for application, admissions testing (if needed) books, activities, and Before and After School Care. Tuition may be paid annually, by semester, or in ten monthly payments that are automatically debited. A national tuition management firm manages our tuition payment system. Tuition payments are collected from July through April.

Financial Aid

Scholarships and financial aid are available for a limited number of children whose families demonstrate an inability to pay the full cost. Financial aid must be requested when submitting an application for admission or when re-enrolling a current student. Scholarship and financial aid decisions are made prior to the start of tuition payment cycle for each school year. If all available resources have not been utilized, additional applicants may be considered for the second semester only.
